All of my photographs which show an Amish person are taken with permission of the subject or his parents and taken from the back or side so that the subject of the picture cannot be recognized. To be recognizable in a photograph is a prideful thing that the Amish generally avoid. Some communities are against being photographed at all, but most of them feel that a photograph that shows a person in such a way that it could be any person in any Amish community is acceptable.
